Amazon receives the highest score on the 2022 Disability Equality Index, based on ratings in categories such as culture and leadership, access, and employment practices.
Amazon has been named one of the “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” for the fifth year in a row after receiving a perfect score on the Disability Equality Index.
The index is a collaboration between the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN that measures disability workplace inclusion. Employers are evaluated based on their culture and leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices (including benefits, recruitment, employment, education, retention, advancement, and accommodations), community engagement, supplier diversity, and non-US operations. Non-weighted leadership questions about including disability in corporate board diversity criteria are also included in the Disability Equality Index.
Amazon’s commitment to disability inclusion stems from a deeply held belief in the importance of creating, nurturing, and growing a workplace culture that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds. Our goal is to be the most welcoming and accessible employer on the planet. This includes expanding opportunities for people with disabilities, innovating how we work and the tools and technologies we employ, and empowering our employee community to effect more positive change.
