According to News agency, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for taking action against staffers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretariat in connection with the prohibited funding case.
Following the petition filed by the lawyer, Shah Khawar Advocate, who is representing the PTI central secretary staffers, the acting chief justice of the IHC, Justice Aamer Farooq, has issued notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to the petition, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah requested action against the PTI secretary employees during a press conference, and the FIA served notices on the employees late Thursday night via WhatsApp.
It stated that the FIA notices were ‘malicious,’ and that the federal agency should be barred from harassing PTI employees. The lawyer requested that the FIA notices be declared null and void by the high court.
After issuing a notice to the FIA, the IHC adjourned the hearing on the petition until August 10.
