Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympian Javelin Thrower and Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 gold medalist, received the most prestigious award for his historic performance on Sunday.
Arshad announced in a video message that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded him a scholarship to prepare for the Paris Olympics in 2024.
“I am honored to have been awarded a scholarship by the International Olympic Committee, which will assist me in preparing for the Paris Olympics in 2024,” Arshad said.
“On this occasion, I would like to thank the Pakistan Olympic Association, the Pakistan Sports Board, and the Pakistan Athletics Federation for their efforts in arranging this scholarship for me,” Arshad, who finished fifth in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, added.
Arshad made Pakistan proud with his record-breaking performance on Sunday. Arshad, a 25-year-old Javelin Thrower, not only improved his personal best but also set a new CWG record by throwing 90.18m.
