The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab is working to launch a special scholarship programme for PhD students, according to Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairman of the HEC Punjab.
Dr. Munir stated at an event that HEC Punjab aims to promote quality research that will solve industry problems and contribute to Pakistan’s development.
Countries that have made significant advances in science and technology are considered as world leaders in their respective industries. Because knowledge creation is inextricably linked with research, more investment in the country’s education sector is required.
Vice-Chancellors (VCs) of all public and private universities should foster an entrepreneurial culture, strengthen academia-industry ties, and encourage innovation to address national issues.
Dr. Munir went on to say that Pakistan’s education sector will never progress unless significant changes are made to the quality of education provided in schools, colleges, and universities.
Pakistan should seek assistance from other countries in order to improve its education sector. This would not only help to promote education diplomacy and tourism, but it would also strengthen bilateral relations.
