To differentiate their products from the virtually endless supply of contemporary cars, new automakers are constantly coming up with fresh ideas. To that end, Sony-Honda Mobility (SHM) has decided to introduce gaming in their upcoming electric vehicles (EVs).
With PlayStation, Sony has established a reputation for excellence in the gaming sector. Izumi Kawanishi, CEO of SHM, said in an interview with the Financial Times that the tech behemoth will use its entertainment edge as a differentiator in its cars.
He stated in his interview:
“Sony has content, services and entertainment technologies that move people. We are adapting these assets to mobility, and this is our strength against Tesla. [The company] develop a car as hardware that will cater to the entertainment and network we would like to offer.
Sony is renowned for offering a variety of technologies. By providing a car that emphasizes entertainment quality and includes a cutting-edge gaming console, infotainment, a top-of-the-line stereo system, big screens, and other fun gadgets, the company will probably carve out a niche for itself.
